How-To Thursday : Banana Crepe

Stuck at home on a rainy afternoon with nothing to do, I decided to raid our pantry and found this:
At first, I planned on making pancakes but then I saw this recipe for crepes at the back of the box. Wanting to try something different, or maybe I was just really looking for something to keep me busy, I decided to make banana crepes.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp of melted butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup hotcake mix
  • Bananas
STEP ONE

Beat the eggs slightly and then add the melted butter, 1 cup of water and hotcake mix. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is free from lumps. Pre-heat your non-stick frying pan. (If you are using an ordinary frying pan, brush the surface lightly with oil.)
STEP TWO

Pour a little mixture into the pan. Emphasis on little, you are not making a pancake, but a crepe. You can either tilt your pan around or use your spatula to evenly spread the mixture. Flip to cook the other side.

STEP THREE

For the filling, cut the bananas into smaller sizes and then wrap the crepe around it. Since we don't have vanilla and chocolate syrup available at home, I decided to use condensed milk as an alternative, then topped it all off with vanilla ice cream.
Finished product
Okayyyyy, so my crepe doesn't look like a crepe at all, but hey, it's my first time so forgive me? I had my Dad taste it and he liked it! Not bad, eh? I must say, it was an afternoon well spent.
